During the past years there has been an increase in the diagnosis of cystic tumours of the pancreas, with the availability of modern imaging methods. Frequently asymptomatic, this tumours pose a challenge with the differential diagnosis with the more common pseudo cyst. The distinction of these different entities is fundamental, because their management is radically different. The authors describe the steps for diagnosis and therapeutic options for cystic tumours of the pancreas.
