Abstract

Osteomyelitis of the clavicle is a rare, persistent and sometimes incapacitating entity. An early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential and a perioperative antibiotherapy associated with an aggressive surgical debridement followed by wound coverage with a muscle flap, mainly pectoralis major muscle, is a successful treatment approach.
