Abstract

Laparoscopic cholecistectomy was introduced in Portugal in 1991. 20 years after, it is considered the “gold standard” technique and its use has suffered many changes, either by its dissemination, or because of the technical developments which happened meanwhile. Nowadays, the options and ways of approaching the problem are not only different but also allow different choices. Those possible options and its reasoning are discussed in this paper.
