GIANT PRIMARY PULMONARY LEIOMYOSARCOMA
Abstract
A 57-year-old woman with backpain was diagnosed with a right hemithorax mass. Transthoracic needle biopsy showed a low-grade leiomyosarcoma.
Surgery was performed, with resection of the tumor en bloc with the 5th right rib and the right lung. Pathology showed a 22 x 19 x 10 cm, 2700 g primary pulmonary leiomyosarcoma, an extremely rare finding.
